Mission Statement
The Blue Cross has been helping animals for over 100 years. It was founded in 1897
when a group of concerned people met to form a society "for the encouragement of kindness
to animals". Today through our network of adoption centres, animal hospitals and equine
centres we care for and find loving new homes for many thousands of animals every year.
We believe that:
Every animal has the right to be treated with kindness and respect
Every animal in pain has the right to proper veterinary care
Every abandoned animal has the right to a loving, caring home
No healthy animal should ever be destroyed simply for want of a home
We rely solely on the generosity of the public. Thank you for your support.
