Mission Statement
The Parkinson's Disease Society's (PDS) mission is the conquest of Parkinson's disease, and the alleviation of the suffering and distress it causes, through effective research, education, welfare and communication.
This year, the PDS will spend £4 million funding medical research into the causes, relief and cure of Parkinson's disease, as well as campaigning within Parliament and the media on issues affecting people with Parkinson's and their carers.
The PDS works with health and social care professionals, advising on models of good practice and offering a wide range of up-to-date
information. It has a Freephone Helpline and offers advice on residential and respite care services. The PDS has established 220 Parkinson's Disease Nurse Specialists within the NHS and employs 76 Community Support Workers. It has 29,000 members and 307 branches and support groups nationwide.
Letter of Support
The Greetings Card Company's website is a welcome opportunity for us to raise vital funds for the PDS, to not only improve the lives of people living with Parkinson's, but also to search for a cure.
We hope that you will like our selection of cards and will support us through this unique site.
Many thanks,
The Parkinson's Disease Society
